Ωστόσο, η Νίκαια είχε αποκτήσει την αίγλη της, πολύ νωρίτερα, όταν η αγγλική αριστοκρατία του 19ου αιώνα είχε ανακαλύψει τις ομορφιές της και το υπέροχο κλίμα της. Η φήμη της σύντομα είχε φτάσει και στην Αμερική. Γνωστός θαμώνας την πάλαι ποτέ εποχή ήταν ο αμερικανός John D. Rockefeller Jnr. Κάπου εκεί στα μέσα του Απριλίου αρχίζουν να βγαίνουν οι πολυτελείς ξαπλώστρες, στήνονται οι σικ ομπρέλες και η πανέμορφη πόλη της Κυανής Ακτής πλημυρίζει με τις αποχρώσεις του μπλε. Οι επιλογές είναι πολλές. Τουλάχιστον 15 ιδιωτικές και 20 δημόσιες παραλίες και πολλά καφέ, μπαρ, εστιατόρια. Οι περισσότερες οργανωμένες παραλίες είναι ιδανικές όχι μόνο για χαλάρωση, αλλά και για αθλητικές δραστηριότητες. Διαθέτουν, ομπρέλες, ξαπλώστρες, πετσέτες, ναυαγοσώστες, αποδυτήρια, ντους, ειδικούς χώρους για παιδιά, εστιατόριο με θέα στη θάλασσα και φυσικά παρέχουν πολυτελείς υπηρεσίες όπως μασάζ μαθήματα κολύμβησης, yoga, κλπ. Κατά τη διάρκεια της σεζόν, παραμένουν ανοιχτές από τις 09:00 έως τις 20:30 καθημερινά, ενώ οι τιμές ποικίλλουν σημαντικά. Ξεκινάνε από 20 ευρώ και φτάνουν τα 28 ευρώ. Υπάρχουν όμως και παραλίες που προσφέρουν τιμές μισής ημέρας για μια πιο οικονομική επιλογή. Ο ναυαγοσώστης της παραλίας παραδίδει prive μαθήματα κολύμβησης και γυμναστικής στο νερό ενώ οι σερβιτόροι στο εστιατόριο εντυπωσιάζουν με το πόσο γρήγορα μπορούν να καθαρίσουν το φρέσκο ψάρι που έχετε παραγγείλει. Θα γευματίσετε πάνω στην άμμο ανάμεσα στους ντόπιους και αν είστε τυχεροί θα φάτε φρέσκα μύδια συνοδευμένα με υπέροχες γαλλικές τηγανητές πατάτες.
