Κάθε φορά που βρίσκομαι εκεί, η γνήσια κουζίνα των Χανίων με τις παραδοσιακές συνταγές, τα φρέσκα υλικά που φτάνουν κατευθείαν από τα Σφακιά, το καταπληκτικό ελαιόλαδο και την ποικιλία των γεύσεων, απογειώνει τον ουρανίσκο μου. Αν έπρεπε, ωστόσο, να διαλέξω ένα από τα πληθωρικά Κρητικά πιάτα θα επέλεγα σίγουρα κάποια από τις παραδοσιακές πίτες. Είτε πρόκειται για χανιώτικες κρεατότουρτες, σφακιανές πίτες, μαραθότιτες, είτε για μπουρέκια, καλιτσούνια και μυζηθροπιτάκια, οι αντιστάσεις μου, κάθε φορά, κάμπτονται και τα καταναλώνω, χωρίς να σκέφτομαι τις θερμίδες.
Αν αυτό το καλοκαίρι, βρεθείτε και εσείς στα Χανιά, περιηγηθείτε στα στενά δαιδαλώδη σοκάκια της παλιάς πόλης, όλο και κάποιο αυθεντικό ταβερνάκι θα ανακαλύψετε για να παραγγείλετε μία από τις παραδοσιακές Κρητικές πίτες και να την απολαύσετε, με τη συνοδεία μπόλικης ρακής.
